Uttarakhand / Haldwani : Bikers’ arbitrariness, 600 returned, 150 deducted challans

Bikers going to Nainital from other cities were forbidden to violate the rules even after being prohibited. On the very first day of the ban, 600 tourist bikers coming from outside were sent back by the police, while action was also taken against 150 bikers.

Due to the increasing number of tourists in Nainital and the parking was full, the entry of bikers without booking was banned in Nainital for two days. For this, checking points were also made at many places including Haldwani’s Panchayat Ghar, Nariman Tiraha, Russian Bypass, Kaladhungi, Belbaba and Subhashnagar.

CO Traffic Vibha Dixit said that this decision was taken due to the increasing crowd due to the tourist season and large number of people arriving during the Eid holiday. Told that on the very first day, about 600 bikers coming from outside were sent back due to non-availability of hotel booking in Nainital. Along with this, there were about 150 drivers who were also cut off for driving without helmet and three for riding.
