Uttarakhand : Pilgrims got a shock, travel agencies increased Chardham fare; Up to 10 percent increase

The travel agencies of Dehradun have increased the fare by ten percent as soon as the Chardham Yatra begins. The agencies had earlier fixed the fare in March, then it was increased by 20 percent. This time the Chardham Yatra has become 30 percent more expensive than last year.

There are two travel agencies in Dehradun city, to which employment of more than ten thousand people is connected. Advance booking of Chardham Yatra started coming to the agencies from the month of March itself. The agencies had also fixed the travel fare in March itself. In view of the inflation of diesel, the fare was increased by 20 percent.

This fare was increased conditionally. The condition was that if the rates of diesel increase, then the fare would be increased by ten percent. Rajendra Kala of Bhagirathi Travelers said that when the fare was increased, diesel was Rs 89 per liter, which has now increased to Rs 97 per litre. Therefore, the fare has been increased by ten percent.

Told that the fare of Innova car has been increased from six thousand to six thousand five rupees and that of Desire car from three thousand 500 to four thousand rupees per day. Similarly, the fare of tempo traveler has also increased by up to ten percent. Inderjit Singh of Hemkund Traveler said that in view of the inflation of diesel, the fare of Chardham has been increased by ten percent. The fare of Innova car has been made six thousand five rupees per day.

Heavy shortage of tempo traveler
Taxis are available in Chardham, but there is a huge shortage of Tempo Tavern. Advance booking of most tempo traveler has been done till June. In such a situation, there has been arbitrariness in the fare of tempo traveler. Tempo travelers are being booked through travel agents, who are charging passengers more than the fixed fare.
