Rajasthan : The criminal was arrested by the police, but the monkey escaped with the evidence! Read what the police said in court?

Both the perpetrator of the crime and the destroyer of evidence are considered criminals in the eyes of the law. But what happens when the police collect evidence and the weapon used in the crime is also confiscated, but it is snatched away by an animal? Something similar happened in Rajasthan, where a monkey fled with the evidence gathered by the police in a murder case. The incident came to light when the police informed the court about this.

What is the matter?

The case is of September 2016, when a person named Shashikant Sharma died in the primary health center of Chandwaji police station area. After the body was found, the relatives of the deceased blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway demanding an inquiry into the matter. Five days later, the police arrested Chandwaji residents Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera. The police had produced both of them in the court of Additional District Judge on charges of murder. But when the time came to present the evidence in the court, the police said that a monkey stole the murder evidence. Police said the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken away by the monkey.

How did the monkey run away with the evidence?

According to a report in Times of India, the police said that the evidence related to the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court. Apart from the knife, 15 other important evidences were also kept in it. Due to paucity of space in the malkhana, the bag full of evidence was kept under a tree.

Later, when the court asked the police to produce evidence, the police informed the court that a monkey had stolen the bag. The police has also presented this information in writing before the court.
