Energy Corporation’s sweat to meet the demand in Uttarakhand

The Energy Corporation has reached a period of serious economic crisis. The corporation is losing sweat in buying electricity for one day. Whereas the claim was being made to buy expensive electricity for months. The entire management of UPCL was seen running in the government on Friday in the budget jugaad to get out of this economic crisis and buy cash power from the market. The Jal Sansthan has to pay Rs 52 crore to UPCL. With this, UPCL will be able to juggle power purchase for four to five days. In case of non-receipt of this money, UPCL will again have to overdraw from banks or break FD. The overdraw limit is fast getting exhausted and the cash money with UPCL is also very less.
In such a situation, such a bill was scrutinized on Friday, which can give some relief. The biggest dues came out to the Jal Sansthan of 52 crores. Regarding this, a team of engineers and officers of the Finance Department was first rushed to the government. In the afternoon, MD and Director Project were also seen running in the government. In this regard, UPCL MD Anil Kumar said that the financial situation has become challenging due to purchase of additional power from the market. Due to this, efforts are being made on a war footing to recover the pending bills.
On behalf of the headquarters, instructions were issued to all the Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers and the Executive Engineers of the divisions that maximum revenue should be collected. Bills should be collected from industries, furnace industries. If necessary, recovery in advance should not be avoided. Due to this, the phones of the division offices kept ringing throughout the day across the state. Director Operations ML Prasad was given the responsibility of liaising with the Chief, SE.
