Madhya Pradesh / Indore : Madcap burns girlfriend’s car, 7 people burnt alive due to fire spread in building

A heart-wrenching incident took place late Friday night in Swarnabagh Colony of Vijay Nagar area. Seven people died in a fire that broke out in a two-storey building in front of the bus depot. The fire was started by the lover of a young woman living in the building, who was having a rift with the girl. A raging fire from vehicles parked in the parking lot engulfed the entire building and five men, including two women, died of burns and suffocation. Two youths jumped from the second floor to save their lives. This caused a serious injury to his back. Two women were pulled out by ropes by the residents by uprooting the windows and grills. The police have detained the owner of the building, Insaf Patel and his brother Ehsan. Late night the police arrested the mad lover who carried out the crime.
The incident happened at 3 pm on Friday night. Till Saturday afternoon, the police and FSL experts kept investigating the cause of the fire assuming a short circuit, but later in the afternoon CCTV footage revealed that a youth resident of the colony named Sanjay had set a girl’s scooter on fire. Sanjay was having an affair with a young woman living in the same building, but they were having a rift for a few days. Accused Sanjay entered the building at exactly 2.54 pm and took out petrol in a bottle from a car parked there. At 3.01 pm he set the car on fire and then tried to break the CCTV camera. He also tampered with the meter and went out after a while. Police is searching for the accused. Insaaf also saw the footage and identified Sanjay, who lived in the same building till some time back.
Financial assistance of four lakh rupees to the relatives of the dead
The Chief Minister has announced financial assistance of Rs.4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. Ishwar Singh Sisodia, resident of Swarnbagh, his wife Neetu Sisodia, Ashish Rathore (Jhansi), Gaurav Panwar (Betul), Akanksha Agarwal (Dewas), Sameer Singh (Gwalior) and Devendra Salve (Betul) have died in the accident. Firoz, Munira, Vishal Prajapati, Arshat and Sonali Pawar have been injured. He is being treated at MY Hospital. On the other hand, the police took the owner of the building Insaf Patel and his brother Ehsan Patel into custody. Collector Manish Singh said that the police administration is preparing to register a case against the landlord.
Prime Minister and Chief Minister also expressed grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have expressed grief by tweeting. The Prime Minister wrote- ‘The fire incident in Indore, Madhya Pradesh is very sad. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragedy. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted- ‘Sad news was received of the untimely demise of many precious lives in the accident in Indore’s Swarn Bagh Colony. I have ordered an inquiry into it. Strict action will be taken against whoever is found to be negligent. Rs 4 lakh each will be given to the next of kin of the deceased.
