Uttarakhand : The doors of Badrinath Dham were opened with rituals, chanting and the tune of the army band

The doors of Badrinath Dham were opened to the devotees on Sunday with full rituals, chanting and the tune of the army band. During this, a large number of devotees were present in the court of the Lord. Senior police officers have instructed the policemen on duty to take extra precautions. The temple is decorated with flowers and lights. Situated on the hills of Chamoli district on the banks of river Alaknanda, Badrinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is one of the four ancient pilgrimage sites called ‘Char Dham’. It also includes Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath. This temple is located in Badrinath city of Uttarakhand. It is open to devotees for six months (between the end of April and the beginning of November) every year. The doors of Kedarnath temple were opened for devotees on Friday morning.
The annual Chardham Yatra began with the opening of the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples in Uttarkashi district on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya on May 3. The doors of Badrinath temple will open on May 8. Earlier this month, the state government had limited the number of pilgrims visiting the Char Dham. Permission will be given to 15,000 pilgrims daily in Badrinath, 12,000 in Kedarnath, 7,000 in Gangotri and 4,000 in Yamunotri. This arrangement has been made for 45 days. This year, it is not mandatory for the pilgrims to bring the COVID-19 negative test report or vaccination certificate. Every year lakhs of tourists and devotees from all over the country and abroad visit Char Dham.
