Two Lashkar terrorists, including Pakistani Haider, killed in a ten-hour encounter in Kulgam, jawan injured

After the presence of terrorists in Kulgam, the security forces launched a massive search operation. A foreigner and a local terrorist have been killed during the encounter. With this the operation is over.

Two terrorists, including Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Haider, were killed by security forces in a 10-hour-long encounter in South Kashmir’s Kulgam on Sunday. Both the slain terrorists were involved in the killing of a Hindu from a Rajput family in Kulgam, including the killing of several policemen. AK 56 rifles and four magazines, pistols including magazines and UBGL have been recovered from them. A jawan was also injured in the encounter. He has been admitted to Base Hospital in Srinagar.

Police said that a search operation was launched on Sunday morning on information about the presence of terrorists in Devsar area. During this, seeing the cordon tightening, the hiding terrorists started firing, as well as fired grenades. The security forces exercised restraint and asked them to surrender, but they did not agree. Two terrorists were killed one by one in the retaliatory encounter.

IG Kashmir Vijay Kumar told that one of the terrorists killed was a Pakistani Haider. Haider was involved in two recent terror incidents in Bandipora. He along with his companions attacked Gulshan Chowk Bandipora on 10 November 21, in which Mohammad Sultan and Fayaz were martyred. He was involved in the attack on the naka near Nishat Bagh on 11 February 2022, in which SPO Zubair Ahmed was martyred. Apart from this, an ASI of BSF and three policemen were injured in the attack.

The IG said that the second terrorist killed was Shahbaz Shah of Kulgam. He was involved in the murder of Satish Kumar Singh of Rajput community on April 13 in Kakran, Kulgam. Before the start of the encounter, the security forces evacuated the people trapped there and shifted them to a safe place.

67 terrorists killed so far this year
According to the police, this was the 43rd encounter of this year and the security forces have managed to kill 67 terrorists including 17 Pakistanis so far this year. Of these, 41 terrorists belonged to Lashkar, 15 to Jaish, 9 to Hizbul and two to Albadr. Apart from this, 32 terrorists and their 173 helpers have also been arrested.
