Uttar Pradesh / Mirzapur : Sweeper raped female patient in the bathroom of Mandal Hospital, police engaged in search of accused

A case of raping a female patient admitted in the women’s ward of Mandal Hospital in Mirzapur has come to light. The victim has accused a sweeper posted in the hospital of rape. Police has started investigating the matter.
According to the information received, the woman’s husband had reached the hospital on the last 7th after the woman of Lalganj police station area had stomach pain. Here she was admitted to the women’s ward. It was told that when the woman went to the bathroom late in the evening at around 9 pm, the scavenger who was already ambushed there took advantage of the opportunity and raped her.
It is alleged that the sweeper fled after the rape. Fearing public shame, the victim did not mention the incident to anyone. At the same time, when the condition of the victim got better, the family took her home. At home, the victim narrated the ordeal to the family members. In the meantime, the woman’s condition worsened again. Later the family took the victim to the District Women’s Hospital.
After this, the victim’s husband handed over a letter to the SP on Tuesday, demanding action against the accused sweeper. As soon as the matter came to the notice, the city Kotwali police reached the women’s hospital and recorded the statement of the victim. Police has started searching for the accused sweeper.
