Live-in-partner arrested in connection with the death of Bengali TV actress Pallavi Dey

Police on Tuesday arrested her live-in-partner Sagnik Chakraborty in connection with the death of Bengali TV actress Pallavi Dey under suspicious circumstances. Pallavi’s family members have accused Sagnik of murder. The police, however, took him into custody for torturing Pallavi financially. He was questioned for a long time before being arrested.

Police sources say that there are many discrepancies in the statement of Sagnik. It is worth mentioning that Pallavi’s body was found hanging in her flat in Kolkata’s Garfa area on Sunday. Pallavi used to live there with Sagnik. Pallavi’s family members claimed that Sagnik is married. He had kept this thing hidden from Pallavi. He also has relationships with many women. Recently he also had an affair with a friend of Pallavi. Pallavi could not bear this. The two often quarreled over this. That’s why he took Pallavi’s life.

The Rawals also alleged that Sagnik had an eye on Pallavi’s money as well. Both have been found to have a joint fixed deposit of Rs 15 lakh. All the money in it belongs to Pallavi. The police had been interrogating Sagnik since the death of Pallavi. Sagnik had called the police station and informed about Pallavi’s suicide. The mobile phones of Pallavi and Sagnik have been seized by the police. Police are trying to find out the exact cause of her death by tracing Pallavi’s WhatsApp and phone calls.
