The DPR of Jamrani-Amritpur Drinking Water Scheme has been prepared afresh. Several technical changes have been made to improve the scheme. The cost of the scheme has now increased from Rs 355 crore to Rs 500 crore. The prepared DPR is being sent to the government. The plan is being made keeping in mind the potential population of 30 years.
Two parallel main lines of equal diameter will be laid from Amritpur so that in case of failure of one, the supply of drinking water from the other line remains smooth. An intake well will be built near the dam to tap water.
Jalnigam will construct the drinking water scheme of the city from Jamrani Dam. Jal Nigam will lay two parallel main drinking water lines of 800-800 mm diameter from Amritpur to the proposed treatment plant at Damuvadhunga. 117 MLD water will be taken from Amritpur. 58.5-58.5 MLD water from each line will be released to the treatment plant. A 72 MLD treatment plant will be built at Damuvadhunga. Four MLD water will be released in Sheetlahat drinking water scheme.
With this, drinking water will be supplied to the Kathgodam-Sheeshmahal area. 30 MLD water from Gaula will also be distributed in the city. There will be a zone-wise arrangement of drinking water distribution so that in case of interruption of supply in one zone, the supply of other zones continues.

Sheetlahat, Sheeshmahal, Nainital Road, Rampur Road, Nawabi Road, Laldant, Kathgharia-Unchapul, Haldikhal, Gaulafeeding Main Cities.
21 new reservoirs to be built
21 new reservoirs will also be built for distribution of drinking water in 60 wards. Drinking water will be supplied to all the zones directly from the treatment plant.
ADB will create internal distribution system
Under the two thousand crore rupees announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Haldwani city, the internal drinking water distribution system of the city will be done by ADB. A whole new system of drinking water distribution system of the city will be prepared from the Jamrani project.
A revised proposal of Jamrani-Amritpur drinking water scheme has been prepared. In this, technical changes have been made in the main drinking water line. Soon the proposal will be sent to the government.
