Uttarakhand : Chief Minister reviewed the development works of Haridwar, gave instructions to the officers to pay attention to the development of public facilities

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the development works related to the district in Damkothi Haridwar with the officials on Friday. The Chief Minister said that in view of Chardham Yatra, care should be taken for the convenience of the passengers in Haridwar. He took detailed information from the officials of the Municipal Corporation regarding waste disposal, sanitation, etc. The Municipal Corporation officials apprised the Chief Minister that there are 160 drains in Haridwar Municipal Corporation area, the work of cleaning them has been started, for which 124 sweepers have been engaged. Municipal corporation officials also informed that three times cleanliness is being done in a day in the city. On being asked by the Chief Minister regarding the arrangements of the Health Department, the officials gave information regarding the arrangements of the hospitals etc. The Chief Minister said that the cleanliness system of the hospitals should be kept tight. Surprise inspection can be done at any time of cleanliness of hospitals, municipal corporation and presence of personnel in offices etc. If any deficiency is found anywhere during the surprise inspection, then strictest action will be taken against the concerned. He also directed the officers to implement biometric attendance system in the offices.
The Chief Minister also held detailed discussions with the officials regarding the various development works being carried out by the National Highway Authority of India in Haridwar. During the review of NHAI, it came to the fore that water stagnates at many places on National Highways, which is causing water logging due to lack of proper drainage. On this, the officials said that the drains built on the highway are made only for the drainage of the highway water, while these drains also bring water from the surrounding settlements and other places, due to which the situation of water logging is created. has been On this, the Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure that the NHAI and the Irrigation Department make a comprehensive plan and solve this problem by establishing coordination. Regarding the arrangement of water by the officials of Jal Nigam and Jal Sansthan, the Chief Minister was apprised that water is being supplied smoothly. There are 12,000 hand pumps in the district and those handpumps which get damaged due to any reason, they are being repaired from time to time. The Chief Minister directed the officers that the public should not face any problem of drinking water anywhere. The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of Har Ghar Nal Se Jal under Jal Jeevan Mission in the meeting. Officials said that under the scheme overhead tanks have been built and pipelines have been laid. The Chief Minister directed the officers to expedite the works. It was told by the officials of the Electricity Department that at present full power is being provided to the industries and there is a lot of improvement in the system of power supply. The Chief Minister directed the officers that the incidents of power theft should also be kept a close watch and the Vigilance team should be activated and strict action should be taken against those found involved in the incidents of electricity theft.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials of the Public Works Department to make the roads pothole-free. The Chief Minister also took stock of the preparations for the Kanwar Yatra to be held in the month of July, on which the officials said that the preparations for the Kanwar Mela have been started. The Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure that all the preparations related to Kavad Yatra should be done in time. The Chief Minister also directed the officers to ensure smooth operation of the city’s traffic system, remove illegal encroachments, activate the disaster management system and pay attention to the development of health facilities.
