Rishabh Pant’s two blunders made Delhi Capitals heavy, whose review was not taken, the same player defeated

The Delhi Capitals (DC) team has once again proved to be unlucky and missed out on a place in the playoffs. In the match against Mumbai Indians, the team lost by 5 wickets, with this the journey of IPL 2022 also ended. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)’s playoff ticket was confirmed by the defeat of Delhi.
But Delhi Capitals was in a strong position at one point of time in this match, where two big mistakes of captain Rishabh Pant were heavy on the team. These mistakes changed the course of the match and Mumbai Indians won.
Tim David was out but did not take review
Tim David came on the field after the dismissal of Dewald Brevis, at that time there were about five overs left. Shardul Thakur bowled the first ball to Tim David and the ball came out of the bat and went straight into the hands of Rishabh Pant. The fielding team appealed, but the umpire did not give out. Captain Rishabh Pant spoke to the bowler and the rest, but later decided not to take the review.
When the replays were shown on the big screen, it showed that the ball had just touched the bat. There were five overs left in the match and Delhi had 2 reviews. For a big hitter like Tim David, not taking a review on the first ball proved to be Delhi’s biggest mistake. Later Tim David scored 34 runs in 11 balls and the match turned completely.
Dewald Brevis’s catch was dropped
Not only this, there was another mistake from Rishabh Pant. Dewald Brevis was raining runs after Mumbai got the initial setbacks. Here Devald Brevis played a shot on Kuldeep Yadav’s ball, the ball was straight in the sky and came near the pitch. Rishabh Pant went to catch this catch, the ball came straight into his hand but the catch was dropped.
These two big mistakes completely changed the course of the match. The team of Delhi Capitals had a chance to reach the playoffs. But on one occasion the pressure came so much that the team looked completely disintegrated.
