In the plains including the mountains, it has been raining with strong winds for the last two days. It rained on Tuesday morning as well but after some time the weather cleared. While this gave relief from the scorching heat, there was damage in many places due to the storm. The Chila range of Rajaji Tiger Reserve was also affected by this. Tourists could not enjoy the safari for some time due to the accumulation of mud in the track. Park workers working hard to clear the mud since 5 o’clock in the morning made the track walkable at around 12 noon. After this the jungle safari could start. Forest Officer, Chila Range Anil Panuli said that there were problems in movement due to clay soil at some places on the track. Which has been rectified.
The rain became a gift for the animals and the forest: The rain that had been raining for two days acted as a gift for the wild animals and the forest. Rewasan unit in-charge Pramod Dhyani said that now the crisis of forest fire has ended due to rain. Due to the moisture in the ground, now the fire will not be able to take a formidable form. Shyampur Ranger Yashpal Singh Rathore said that the water holes built in the forest have been filled with water, so that now wild animals will not turn to the Ganges in search of water.
