The municipal councilors have expressed their anger over the rejection of the decision taken by the state government regarding non-implementation of business license and property tax keeping in view the public interest in the municipal board meeting.

In this regard, councilor Suraj Prasad Kanti said that by rejecting this decision of the board, the burden of unnecessary tax has been imposed on the public, which they oppose. At the time of formation of the Municipal Corporation by the State Government, it was announced not to collect any tax from the public for ten years, but after returning to power, the government has started the work of imposing tax on the public, which is unfair. They warned that if the state government does not take back this decision, they will be forced to agitate. Councilors Anil Rawat, Vivek Shah, Jagdish Mehra, Harish Negi, Kunwar Singh Rawat, Deepak Negi and Sunita Rawat were present in the meeting.
