Monsoon will knock before time, it will rain here for the next two days

The Southwest Monsoon has reached Sri Lanka after stopping for six days and is now moving towards Kerala. The officials of the Meteorological Department gave this information. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Thursday, “Conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some parts of South Arabian Sea. It is expected to reach Maldives, Lakshadweep and adjoining parts in the next 48 hours.

According to reports, parts of Kerala have received heavy rains and the Met Office has predicted widespread rain in Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next two days.

“We are keeping a close watch on the progress of monsoon into Kerala,” the IMD said.

Normally, the monsoon reaches Kerala on June 1, now it is expected to reach four days earlier.

According to meteorologists, the southwest monsoon has gained momentum in the Bay of Bengal this month due to Cyclone Asani. The monsoon had reached the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on May 16, much ahead of time and due to the remaining impact of the cyclone, it was expected to advance.

Researcher Akshay Deoras at the University of Reading tweeted, “Good news, after a pause of six days, the monsoon rising from the Arabian Sea has progressed. Monsoon has now reached Sri Lanka and the next stop will be Kerala. Meanwhile, the monsoon arising from the Bay of Bengal has not shown any progress since May 20.
