Uttar Pradesh : Yogi government presented the budget – focus on women’s safety, increase in pension

The first budget of Yogi Sarkar 2.O was presented in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Thursday. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna made many big announcements while presenting a budget of Rs 6 lakh 15 thousand 518 crore 97 lakh. He also made many announcements keeping women in mind. Particular attention has been paid to the safety of women. Efforts have also been made to provide relief to them by increasing the pension.
- Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that destitute women’s pension has been increased to Rs 1000. A provision of Rs 4032 crore for this scheme in the financial year 2022-23 budget. Apart from this, old age pension has also been increased to 1000 rupees per month, which will also benefit elderly women.
- A provision of Rs 600 crore has been made for the mass marriage scheme, which will be spent in the marriage of poor daughters.
- A provision of Rs 50 crore has been made for each dose of HPV vaccine to one lakh girls in the age group of 9 to 14 years in the state.
- In order to keep the security of women and girls strong in the state, “Women Help Desk” has been established at all 1535 police stations of all the districts of the state, designating women beat constables.
- Their grievances are being redressed with respect, this has instilled a sense of security among women, effective action is being taken on their complaints immediately.
- In the districts of the state, 2,740 women police personnel were allotted 10,370 women beats.
- For maximum participation of women, 03 Women PAC Battalions Lucknow, Gorakhpur and Badaun are being formed.
- The “Women and Child Protection Organization” formed in August 2020 is being implemented/supervised by the Additional Director General of Police, Women and Child Protection Organization, Uttar Pradesh.
- Cyber help desks are being set up at district level in all the districts of the state, a provision of Rs 72 crore 50 lakh has been proposed for women empowerment scheme.
- In the call of Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao, UPSEE. Laptops were given to 100 topper girls of 2018 and laptops to 100 topper SC/ST girls.
- A provision of Rs 20 crore has been proposed for the safety and empowerment of women and skill development under the Mission Shakti program in the micro and small scale industries sector.
- In order to motivate the Anganwadi workers for better performance, incentive amount is being provided at the rate of 1500 rupees per month from September 2021.
