Uttarakhand / Mussoorie : The game of over rating continues in liquor contracts – customers upset due to illegal extortion, officials became unknown
Liquor is being sold at the liquor shops in the tourist city by over rating the local citizens including tourists, due to which there is a dispute between the customers and the shopkeepers at the liquor shops. There is huge resentment among customers about over rating
At Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, liquor is being sold at an English liquor shop at more than the government fixed rate, in which one is over-renting and more money is being taken. People say that first the price has been increased by putting a chip on the bottle, while after that forty to eighty rupees more than the print rate are being charged. When the customer tells the shopkeeper in this regard, he on the contrary starts threatening the customers. In this, foreign brand liquor is being sold at an arbitrary price, while the Indian liquor is being sold at a higher rate than the print rate by overrating it. Due to which people are outraged. Not only this, the list is not kept outside the shops and the list which is in any shop is different from the price being charged. At the same time, the toll free number is also not written with the list, whereas it is mandatory to write the toll free number.
In this regard, BJP Mussoorie Mandal President Mohan Petwal says that there are frequent complaints of over rating at liquor shops, which is also in the notice of SDM Mussoorie. He said that only branded liquor is listed in the liquor shops, whereas there is no list of local brands and no toll free number has been written. which is wrong. In this regard, SDM Mussoorie Naresh Durgapal said that if this is happening then it is wrong that no liquor shop will be allowed to sell liquor at arbitrary rates and over ratings, if anyone does so, then strict action will be taken. He also said that he has called the Excise Department team which will take action on liquor shops when they come to Mussoorie.
