Uttarakhand / Haldwani : In many areas of the city there was an outcry over drinking water

Drinking water crisis has deepened in various parts of the city. In the areas like Nawabi Road, Damuwadhunga, Katgharia, Safi Farm, Gaujajali, Talli Haldwani, thousands of people are wandering for drinking water. Despite several complaints to the officials of the Jal Sansthan, the drinking water crisis is not taking its name to end.

Drinking water crisis persists for a week in Safi Farm due to motor blowing of tubewell. Due to the failure of the Irrigation Department’s tube well in Kamaluvaganja, there is a shortage of drinking water in many areas. People are not getting enough water due to leakage problem in Nawabi Road, Jagdamba Nagar and Triloknagar Phase 2. Due to the problem of low pressure in Damuvadhunga and Katgharia, water is not reaching people’s homes. In some areas, Jal Sansthan is engaged in providing water through tankers. But this water is proving insufficient to quench the thirst of the people. To meet the water needs, people have to get water from private tankers.

Since the month of May, there is a shortage of water in Shiv Kripa Complex Katgharia. Water has been provided to 20 families through a one-inch pipeline. But there is no water in people’s homes. – Sudha Kandpal, Shiv Kripa Complex, Katgharia

There is no water in the houses since last three days. The water needs have to be met by buying a private tanker for Rs 700. Despite several times the department was informed about the problem, no relief has been received so far. – Indra Mehta, Damuwadhunga

In the areas where there is a problem of drinking water, drinking water is being supplied through tankers. Drinking water supply at Safi Farm was disrupted due to the motor blowing of the tubewell. Drinking water supply will be restored by making the tubewells operational by Monday evening.
