Weeds again in Bengali film industry, model Saraswati Das commits suicide, fourth case in last 15 days
The mystery of the death of three models in West Bengal in the last few days was not even solved that now another model and make-up artist has committed suicide. The body of the model and make-up artist has been recovered from her house in Kolkata, West Bengal. The body has been identified as make-up artist Saraswati Das. It is being told that she was struggling to make a career in modeling. This is the fourth such case within 15 days.
According to the information, the body of make-up artist Saraswati Das was found hanging from the noose in her house in Kasba area of Kolkata late on Sunday evening. In preliminary investigation, the police is finding it to be a case of suicide. The police have started investigation by registering a case of unnatural death. It is being told that apart from make-up, Saraswati Das used to make ends meet by doing video shoots and private tuitions. The family members did not provide financial help but gave moral support.
Model Saraswati Das commits suicide
Police sources have claimed that in the preliminary postmortem report, it is being considered as a suicide. According to sources, Saraswati Das had gone to sleep in the room shared with her grandmother in the middle of the night. In the middle of the night, Dadi saw that Saraswati was not in the room. When she went to another room, she saw that she was hanging from the fan in a dupatta. The family took Saraswati Das to the CNMC hospital where she was declared brought dead. After passing the secondary examination, the victim left her studies and started giving tuitions and doing modeling work.
What is the reason behind suicide?
According to the information, she was reportedly having an affair and was going into depression in the recent times due to some tension in their relationship.
The victim was living with her mother Aarti Das for the last 17 years at her maternal uncle’s place, as her father got separated from her mother. However, there is no apprehension of any disturbance but arrangements were made for investigation and autopsy to ascertain the real cause of his death.
Bidisha Dey committed suicide on May 25
Earlier, Bidisha Dey, the popular face of the bride’s makeup shoot, committed suicide on May 25 in Nagarbazar area. His body was also found hanging from the fan after breaking the door of the flat. She worked in the lead role in the 2021 short film ‘Bhar – The Clown’ opposite popular actor Debraj Mukherjee. She had left her home in Kankinara in North 24 Parganas on Sunday and spoke to her family for the last time on Tuesday.
Manjusha Niyogi and Pallavi Dey also committed suicide
Also, Manjusha Neogi was found dead on May 27 at her residence in Kolkata’s Patuli area. On 15 May, Pallavi Dey, who played the lead role in the TV show ‘Mon Mane Na’, was also found hanging in her rented apartment in Garfa area. The postmortem report confirmed suicide. Later, on a complaint lodged by the family, his live-in partner Sagnik Chakraborty was arrested by the Kolkata Police. He has been charged with extortion and murder. Chakraborty is currently in police custody.
