Telangana : Minor gang rape case in Hyderabad, MLA’s red Mercedes: Sources

A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped in a Mercedes on May 28 in Hyderabad. According to sources, the car belongs to an MLA. This comes after the police confirmed the involvement of an MLA’s son in the rape case. According to the police, all the accused in the case are minors including the MLA’s son. However, the MLA’s family has claimed that their son was sitting in a cafe when the incident took place.

A senior police officer said the son of an MLA and the chairman of the minority board were present at the party where the victim was also present. According to India Today, the victim has been able to identify and name only one accused. Sources are saying that the victim is currently in shock and is unable to identify the rest of the accused.

The police have registered a case against unknown people based on the complaint of the victim’s father. The father has said in his complaint that the girl was asked to sit in a Mercedes car with the accused. There the accused allegedly hit her on the neck and then gang-raped her.

Rape section attached after medical examination
According to the information, the 17-year-old victim was sent for medical examination. After the report came, the police added Section 376 (gang rape) along with POCSO Act and Section 354 of the IPC in the FIR. According to the information, no arrest has been made so far in the case and investigation is on.
