Outrage in Qatar over Nupur Sharma’s remarks on Prophet, India’s ambassador summoned

Qatar has summoned the Indian ambassador over Nupur Sharma’s controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad. Along with this, the suspension action against Nupur Sharma has been welcomed. A statement was issued by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the controversial remarks. In response, the Indian Embassy spokesperson said that strict action has been taken against those making controversial remarks.

After being summoned by Qatar, the Indian Ambassador said that whatever controversial remarks have been made, they have nothing to do with the Indian government. These tweets do not reflect the views of the Indian government.

Along with this said that in line with our civilizational heritage and strong cultural traditions of unity in diversity, the Government of India gives the highest respect to all religions.

The Indian Ambassador said that a meeting has been held in this regard in Qatar, in which concerns have been raised on the controversial statements. In this meeting, India said that strict action has been taken against those making controversial remarks.

What did Nupur Sharma say

During a debate on a TV news channel, BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma allegedly made derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad, which has angered the people of the minority community. After this comment, Nupur Sharma said that the viral video is edited, which has been shared by a fact checker. Since the sharing of this video, he is getting threats from Islamic fundamentalists. Nupur Sharma had alleged that the Alt News proprietor had posted the edited video to promote trolls against her. He had asked for security.
