Former Punjab minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot arrested, accused of taking commission in felling of trees

In Punjab, during the time of the Captain government, two cases were very popular, due to which the opposition had opened a front against the then government. In both these cases, the then minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot was at the center of controversy. When the power went to power, there were indications that the difficulties of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot would increase. Now Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has been arrested.

The Vigilance Bureau of Punjab has arrested Sadhu Singh Dharamsot. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has been arrested for corruption. It is said that Sadhu Singh Dharamsot was an accused in the Dalit scholarship scam. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot was being told as the mastermind of this scam. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot is also accused of taking commission in felling of trees.

Sadhu Singh Dharamsot is accused of taking a bribe of Rs 500 from the contractor for every tree that was cut in the name of development. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot was the Forest Minister in the Captain Amarinder Singh-led government. It is worth noting that after these allegations against Sadhu Singh Dharamsot came to the fore, the opposition parties had opened a front. Then along with Shiromani Akali Dal, the Aam Aadmi Party had also agitated for the demand of removing Sadhu Singh Dharamsot from the cabinet.

Aam Aadmi Party and Shiromani Akali Dal, then these opposition parties were demanding the removal of Dharamsot from the cabinet. When the Aam Aadmi Party came to power after a thumping victory in the Punjab Assembly elections and Bhagwant Mann became the Chief Minister, the sword of action was hanging on Sadhu Singh Dharamsot. CM Mann had also made it clear that the arrest of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot would happen soon.
