During the helicopter landing during the Kalsi visit of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, there was panic due to the flying of dust. The government has taken cognizance of its video going viral.

Secretary Civil Aviation Dilip Jawalkar has written a letter to all the District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police instructing them to ensure compliance of the guidelines issued earlier for helicopter landing. These include sprinkling of water on the helipad before the helicopter landing, as well as making a security circle within a radius of 35 meters by the police here.

Let us inform that on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had arrived by helicopter on behalf of Parvatiya Pragati Mandal in a sports and cultural function organized at Mini Stadium Pajitilani near Sahiya in Kalsi block as the chief guest.

During this, when his helicopter was landing, the local residents were standing very close to the helipad. There was a lot of dust when the helicopter landed, causing panic among the people present.

In the program, the Chief Minister also talked about making arrangements for water sprinkling etc. on the helipad from the stage. This video of the helicopter landing became quite viral in the internet media. Taking cognizance of this, Secretary Civil Aviation Dilip Jawalkar has asked all the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to ensure compliance of the guidelines issued earlier regarding helipad and helicopter landing.

This includes outlining the correct direction of the helipad by the Public Works Department, information about electrical wiring by the Electricity Department, water sprinkling and H mark on the helipad by the local administration before landing and making a security cordon.

Director General of Police Ashok Kumar said that there are times when helicopters have to make emergency landings in Uttarakhand and during this time there is a huge crowd of pilgrims or local people at the helipad. In this case, there is a possibility of accidents happening.

In view of this, a ban has been imposed on all helipads operating in Uttarakhand for additional passengers. Only those passengers can go on the helipad who have to reach their destination through heli service. He said that such instructions have already been issued regarding the heli service operated in Kedarnath.
