Delhi: Chief Minister Bhupesh detained outside ED office

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who was protesting outside the Enforcement Directorate-ED, has been taken into custody by the Delhi Police. During this, the Delhi Police also had a heated argument with the security officers of the Chief Minister. Baghel was protesting in support of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Congress MLA from Raipur Vikas Upadhyay, who was involved in one such demonstration, has also been arrested by the Delhi Police.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had reached the Congress headquarters in Delhi at 10 am. Talking to the press there, he said, the central government, through government institutions, is trying to intimidate Congress leaders. We are not afraid. Congress workers will take the politics of hatred and fear being done by the central government at the grassroots level to the people. Congress will take the issues like inflation and unemployment raised by the central government to the general public. All the big leaders including Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot were present at the Congress headquarters. After some time Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi also reached there. Later everyone along with Rahul Gandhi left for the Enforcement Directorate. Due to police barricading, the protest was divided into several pieces. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel was detained on the road outside the ED office. There the police had put up heavy barricades, vehicles. At the same time, due to heavy deployment of Rapid Action Force personnel around the Chief Minister, they were stopped from going anywhere. The Chhattisgarh Police personnel present with the Chief Minister took him under the security cordon. Meanwhile, Delhi Police officials started talking about taking the CM with them. The Chief Minister said, the police should talk to their security officer. Later, the Chief Minister’s security officer said in clear words that they would not allow the CM to be taken in any other vehicle. If his car is called, he will take the CM. Later the police agreed to order the CM security vehicle.

Chief Minister told dictatorship

The Chief Minister has termed this action of the police as dictatorial. Where is the rule of law, he said. There is a dictatorship going on here. Central agencies are being misused. Work is being done to save your logo. Trying to suppress the opposition, but we are not going to be suppressed.

Big demonstration on the day of Sonia Gandhi’s appearance

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, when Sonia Gandhi appears before the ED, a bigger demonstration will be held than this. No matter how much Delhi Police barricades, with whatever effort. Truth will prevail.

Along with the development came the push

MLA Vikas Upadhyay was stopped by the police while leaving the Congress office. Congress leaders kept shouting slogans amid heavy police arrangements here. Later the police manhandled him. All were arrested and put in buses. From there all have been taken to different police stations. Vikas Upadhyay, MP Dr. Vishnu Prasad, Jyoti Mani, AICC Secretary Ramkishan Ojha, BM Sandeep, Rudra Rajeev, Nitin Kumblekar and Khurshid Ali have been shifted to Mayur Vihar police station.

Congress had sought permission to march to ED office, not received

Congress had sought permission from Delhi Police to march with Rahul Gandhi to the ED office. A day ago, the police administration refused to give such permission. After that the roads outside the Congress headquarters were blocked. On Monday, Congress leaders came out to protest in different batches.
