4,000 posts of para worker to be filled in Himachal Jal Shakti Department
Himachal Pradesh will fill 4,000 posts of para workers in Jal Shakti Department. They will be deployed in the new drinking water project. State Jal Shakti Minister Mahendra Singh said that Rs 4,500 crore has been approved from the Central Government for Jal Jeevan Mission. The Minister said that drinking water projects are to be strengthened in the second phase of Jal Jeevan Mission. The target is to complete this work by the year 2024. In the first phase, taps have been installed in the houses. 353 crore will be spent separately in the Mandi zone for snow protection on the instructions of the Central Government.
Water is a problem in inaccessible and snow-covered areas and water is not available in summer. Here water will be collected from ice protection. 379 crore has been approved under the Prime Minister’s Irrigation Scheme. Apart from this, irrigation projects worth Rs 550 crore are being sent to the Center for approval. The minister said that Rs 1,007 crore is to be spent on flood control. 485 crore is proposed to be spent for the channelization of Suketi near the proposed airport of Mandi. 160 crore is being spent on Theog’s drinking water problem and 110 crore on Kasauli and Parwanoo drinking water projects.
