Madhya Pradesh: Controversy over the question asked in PSC exam regarding Kashmir, blacklisting of papers

The Commission on Tuesday (June 21) disagreed with the content of this question after the controversy erupted over the objectionable question regarding Kashmir in the State Services Preliminary Examination 2021 held two days ago by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC). Along with this, he has put two people who prepared the related question papers in his black list. A top official of MPPSC gave this information in Indore. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra told reporters in Bhopal, “The context of asking a controversial question related to Kashmir in the MPPSC exam is objectionable. The two (persons) who were supposed to prepare the question paper, one from Madhya Pradesh and one from Maharashtra. Both the paper setters asking controversial questions have been barred from preparing question papers in future . The government is writing to the MPPSC and the Higher Education Department to take action against both. ,

He said, ‘It has been informed throughout the country that both the persons have been banned from preparing question papers in future and do not take any work from them.’

MPPSC Officer on Special Duty Ravindra Panchbhai told reporters in Indore, “We do not agree with the content of the question asked on Kashmir in the paper of General Aptitude Test of State Services Preliminary Examination 2021.” So we have removed this question from the exam. He also informed that MPPSC has blacklisted the setter (person who prepares question paper) and moderator (person who checks the prepared paper before printing) of the concerned question paper i.e. they have to be removed from the examination system of MPPSC. Has been thrown out forever. Panchbhai informed that the departments of both the persons have been written by the MPPSC for disciplinary action against them. He however refused to disclose the names of the setters and moderators of the controversial question paper citing the secrecy of the recruitment test .

Officials said that the question paper of General Aptitude Test in MPPSC’s State Services Preliminary Examination 2021 held on Sunday (June 19) purportedly asked whether India should decide to give Kashmir to Pakistan. ? On this question the first argument given in the pamphlet was, ‘ Yes, this will save a lot of money for India. ,

The second argument was made , ‘ no , such a decision would lead to more similar demands . In the question paper, four options were given to the examinees to answer this question. Of these, in the first option the first argument was given as correct, in the second option the second argument was given as correct, in the third option both the first and second arguments were given as correct and according to the fourth option, both the first and second arguments were given as correct. Is not right . Meanwhile , the screenshot of the objectionable question regarding Kashmir has spread on social media . Angry people and opposition leaders on this question are reacting sharply against such question being asked in the conducted examination of MPPSC. State Congress Media Department president KK Mishra demanded the resignation of the MPPSC chairman as well as an FIR against the question paper selector.

“This is clearly a case of sedition,” he said. Such a question was asked about Kashmir, for which soldiers, people and leaders sacrificed their lives. MPPSC has accepted its mistake. Mishra said, ‘Now the government should clarify whether the question was asked with the consent of the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and the Home Minister of the state? ,

“There is a demand of the Congress party that the chairman of MPPSC should resign and a case of sedition should be registered against the question paper selector,” he said. Mishra said that the Congress party wanted to know whether the MPPSC had consulted the central government and the state government before asking such a question on Kashmir. “Instead of asking a question on the great personality and works of Mahatma Gandhi, a question has been asked regarding the killing and sterilization of dogs,” Mishra said. In it, objectionable remarks have been made about Gandhi. State Congress’s media vice president Bhupendra Gupta alleged that it exposed the “anti-Mahatma Gandhi mindset” of the BJP. “Wherever the BJP is in government, it leaves no opportunity to insult the Father of the Nation,” Gupta said. KK Mishra accused the BJP of communalising the entire education system and trying to erase the contributions of Gandhi , Jawaharlal Nehru , Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Bhimrao Ambedkar in India ‘s independence .

Let us tell you that this is not the first time that MPPSC has been in controversies regarding any question. In the year 2020, the Bhil community was described as a ‘tribe with criminal tendencies and drowning in alcohol’ in the preliminary examination paper of the State Administrative Service of Madhya Pradesh. There was a lot of controversy about that. A passage in the paper made a controversial generalization of the Bhils as people with ‘criminal tendencies’. Along with this, due to a custom related to marriage, the Bhil community was described as a ‘tribe drowning in alcohol’. The Congress government had then registered an FIR against some officials regarding this. Apart from this, there was a dispute in Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh for allegedly describing the revolutionaries as terrorists in the political science paper.

A question was asked in the question paper ‘Political Philosophy-3, Political Thought of Modern India’ in the third semester examination of MA Political Science at Jiwaji University, Gwalior, ‘Describe the activities of revolutionary terrorists. What is the difference between extremist and revolutionary terrorists?
