45 year old Preeti reached Manali from Leh in 55 hours on cycle, name will be recorded in Guinness Book

A 45-year-old cyclist from Pune, Preeti has set a record on the Leh-Manali route. She has covered a distance of 430 km in about 55 hours and has given the message of women empowerment. Preeti has become the first woman in the country to travel day and night in the world’s most dangerous and strategically important Manali-Leh road full of adventure. His race will be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Preeti has completed this journey in Non Stop High Altitude Campaign. On reaching Manali, Preeti was welcomed by 38 BRTF. BRO Commander Col Shabarish Vachali congratulated the woman. Preeti told that she completed the journey from Leh to Manali in 55 hours. The purpose of the cycle race was to give the message of women empowerment to the country. Along with this, there was also a coordination between the BRO and the people. He said that in making this race a success, he has got the support of BRO as much as possible and his team was with him.

A target of 60 hours was set to cover the distance from Leh to Manali, but this journey has been completed five hours before the scheduled time. She left Leh on June 22 and reached Manali via Leh’s Oopsi, Lachungala Pass, Nakila, Baralacha Pass, Sarchu, Darcha and Atal Tunnel Rohtang. He found it difficult to cross many passes from Leh-Manali’s journey, but he also got new experiences. He said that today women are not behind in any field. Last year, it was decided to travel from Leh to Manali in a cycle, which I am happy to complete. He said that even before this, he had participated in the Golden Cordilateral Race in March 2021. The journey of 6 thousand km from east to west and north to south started from Pune and ended in Pune via Chennai, Calcutta, Delhi, Mumbai.
