Uttarakhand / Rishikesh : Public awareness rally taken out with drums and drums regarding single use plastic ban
The use of single-use plastic will be banned from July 1. To stop the use of single use plastic and polythene, an awareness rally was taken out in the city by the Municipal Corporation, in which people were motivated not to use single use plastic and polythene.
In the awareness rally, councilors, representatives of social organizations, representatives of religious institutions, students, NCC cadets participated in the rally along with the employees of the municipal corporation. The rally was flagged off by Mayor Anita Mamgain at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Park located in the corporation. In the rally, door-to-door shopkeepers and customers were appealed not to use single use plastic and polythene. He said that if any shopkeeper uses polythene, single use plastic then he will be fined. The Mayor said that on the instructions of the government, polythene and single use plastic are being banned. Plastic has become a big problem for the country. If we want to save our life then we have to stop the use of plastic.
On this occasion Municipal Commissioner Girish Gunwant, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Badri Prasad Bhatt, Brand Ambassador of Municipal Corporation Ravi Prapannacharya, Srikanta Sharma, Vinod Juglan, Brijpal Rana, Madan Mohan Sharma, UNDP organization, members of GIZ organization were present.
