Uttar Pradesh : Pakistani citizen living in Kanpur for 30 years! One son posted in the Air Force, the other a government employee
A very surprising case has come to the fore in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. A Pakistani man was allegedly living here as an Indian citizen for the last 30 years. It is alleged that Alam Chandra Israni is originally a citizen of Pakistan. He came to India with a long-term visa and made a fake Aadhar card, voter ID, PAN card etc. and started living in Barra in Kanpur as an Indian citizen. During this, he also kept taking full advantage of government facilities. The extent is that during this time one of his sons got a job in the Indian Air Force, while the other became a government employee. All this came to light when a person named Alok Kumar, a lawyer by profession, lodged a report against all three of them at the Juhi police station. In this case, on the orders of the court, a case has been registered against these three under various sections including Foreigners Act and orders have been given for investigation.
Giving information in this matter, ADCP Manish Sonkar of Kanpur Commissionerate said that Alam Chandra Israni currently lives in a rented house located in Barra, Kanpur and runs a bakery shop in this area. He told, ‘In the year 1992, Alam Chandra came to India from Pakistan with a long term visa. Since then he has been extending the visa period from time to time. Alam Chandra was given Indian citizenship on July 5, 2013. While complainant Alok Kumar made serious allegations against Alam Chandra, saying that Alam Chandra is Pakistani in origin. He came to India in the year 1992 with a long term visa and without taking Indian citizenship, gradually got important documents like Indian voter ID card made. Not only this, Alam Chandra, being a Pakistani citizen, also got basic Indian facilities. Alok Kumar alleges, ‘On 29/11/2012, Alam Chandra got the food license issued for the bakery operation under the Food Security Act from Kanpur Collectorate on the basis of forged documents.’
On the other hand, Alam Chandra Israni, while clarifying the allegations against him, says, ‘We came to India in 1992 with family on long term visa after getting fed up with Pakistani Muslims. We have not committed any crime. My voter id was created due to administrative mistake. I got Indian citizenship in the year 2013. Other family members (both sons) have also got citizenship.
However, Alog Kumar, a lawyer by profession, alleges that ‘Alam Chandra Israni had got a food license made for operating a bakery shop from Kanpur Collectorate in the year 2012, while he was not an Indian citizen during this time. It is obvious that documents like Voter ID etc. were used in getting food license which is enough to raise doubts.
