Essential services will not stop at the time of disaster in UP, this is the tremendous planning of Yogi government
At the time of disaster in Uttar Pradesh, now essential services will not stop. All the departments will have their own arrangement for this. These projects will be funded by the Revenue Department from the ‘Capacity Building’ and ‘State Disaster Mitigation’ funds of the State Disaster Response Fund. Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra has sent instructions in this regard to all the heads of departments and said that the projects will be developed keeping in mind the priority of the disaster. Disaster not only causes loss of life, but also adversely affects the development of the state. Efficient disaster management is essential for the prosperity and development of the state. Disaster Management and Risk Reduction is a cross-cutting subject. Therefore, projects should be started at the level of various departments by taking effective measures to prevent disasters.
In the instructions sent to the departments, it has been said that India has signed the Sendai Framework for Action-2030 issued by the United Nations for disaster management at the international level. In this, four priorities and seven goals have been set for disaster mitigation. Departments will have to work on this basis. This is necessary keeping in mind the disaster sensitivity of the state and the loss of life.
Four priorities
– Understanding disaster risk
– Improve government systems
Investment in the area of disaster risk reduction
– Enhance disaster preparedness for effective action
Seven goals
– Reducing the mortality rate due to disasters by 2030
– Reducing the number of people affected by natural disasters
– Reducing the direct economic loss caused by a disaster
– Preventing basic services from stalling and minimizing damage
– Developing a local strategy for disaster risk reduction
– To promote international cooperation and coordination for its implementation
– Mechanism to be developed to make disaster early warning and information accessible to all
