NDA has nominated former Jharkhand governor Draupadi Murmu as its candidate for the presidential election.
According to media reports, the names of Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and former Union Minister Najma Heptulla are being considered as NDA candidates. Apart from this, the name of former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is also included in the discussions.

The tenure of the current Vice President Venkaiah Naidu ends on August 10. The next Vice President will take oath on August 11.
According to a media report, the senior BJP leader said, “Intensive search is on for a competent, non-controversial leader with links to Pasmanda Muslim for the Vice Presidential election.” “If no one can be found for the required profile, then the party can agree on the names of four names Arif Mohammad Khan, Naqvi, Heptulla and Captain Amarinder,” he said.
