One day national mourning in India on the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, PM Modi announced

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe died on Friday after being shot during an election event. Abe, 67, was shot minutes after he began a speech Friday in Nara, western Japan. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is shocked and saddened by the death of Abe. In such a situation, in a tweet, PM Modi has declared a day of national mourning on Saturday as a mark of respect for Abe.

“As a mark of our deep respect for former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, a day of national mourning will be observed on 9th July 2022,” he tweeted. Let us tell you that earlier PM Modi condoled the death of Abe by tweeting. In a tweet on Friday, he wrote, “Mr. Abe has made a huge contribution in elevating India-Japan relations to the level of a Special Strategic and Global Partnership. Today the whole of India mourns with Japan and we stand with our Japanese brothers and sisters in this difficult time.

Not only this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in another tweet, “I am shocked and saddened by the sad demise of one of my dearest friends, Shinzo Abe. He was a great global statesman, an outstanding leader and a remarkable administrator. He dedicated his life to making Japan and the world a better place.” It is known that Shinzo Abe was taken by plane to a hospital after being shot but he was not breathing and his heart rate stopped. He was later declared brought dead in the hospital. Abe was the country’s longest-serving prime minister before resigning in 2020 due to health issues. The police arrested the suspected attacker on the spot. This incident has shocked people in Japan, considered one of the safest countries in the world.
