China’s fighter jet came very close to LAC, India reacted: Report

According to a report, in the last week of June last month, a fighter jet of the Chinese Air Force came very close to the Line of Actual Control in the Eastern Ladakh sector while flying. After this, the Indian Air Force immediately acted in response under Standard Operating Procedure. The news agency ANI quoted sources as saying that this incident happened one day in the last week of June at 4 am. When this aircraft was flying in close range of LAC, it was also noticed by some people on the ground and it was also recorded on the indigenous radar deployed in the border area.

Sources said that immediately after the possible violation of the air boundary area, the Indian Air Force agreed to take action under the Standard Operating Procedure.

This incident happened at a time when China is conducting military exercises including its fighter jets and air defense weapons, including the S-400 air defense system, in the border area adjoining the Eastern Ladakh sector.

China has deployed a large number of fighter jets and unmanned aircraft at various positions in large airfields such as Hotan and Gar Gunsa near the Indian border. Their number has increased in the last two years.

There was a similar situation in 2020, when the Chinese army had sent a large number of its soldiers towards the positions of the Indian Army stationed in the border of India’s eastern Ladakh. After this, there were many incidents of clashes and scuffles in this area.

Sources said that this incident of Chinese aircraft coming close to Indian positions was taken up with China as per established procedure, after which no such incident has happened.

Sources clarified that the incident was not particularly very serious, but both sides should avoid such a situation as it may worsen the matter further. The aircraft came close to the LAC, where border tensions between the two countries have been going on since May 2020. Since then, the Indian Army and Air Force have further strengthened their positions and fortified the entire Ladakh sector in such a way that the enemy cannot change the status quo on the LAC by unilateral efforts.

China has developed its infrastructure in the illegally occupied area in front of the Ladakh sector, but India has also built its facilities there on a large scale in a short time. This also includes building a road in Ladakh, so that it is easier for the soldiers to reach the frontline and it takes less time than before. The Northern Command of the Army, which is in charge of the Ladakh sector, has been given all kinds of power, so that it can face the threat of China. Similarly, the Western Air Command in-charge of the Army in the area has been given several assets including combat jets like Rafale. The Air Force conducts regular air patrols here.
