Uttarakhand : Heavy rain in Dehradun, water entered Rana village of Yamunotri, 212 roads including three national highways closed

The weather again changed in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. It rained heavily in Dehradun in the afternoon. According to the bulletin issued by Lonvi at 5 pm on Tuesday, 14 state highways, 10 main district roads, six other district roads, 79 rural roads and 100 roads of PMGSY are closed due to landslides and heavy debris in the state. Only 66 roads could be opened on Tuesday. While 89 roads were closed. Apart from this, 125 roads were closed from the day before. In this way, action is being taken to open a total of 212 roads. Of these, 235 JSHB machines have been deployed.

At the same time, according to the State Emergency Operation Center located at the Secretariat, a 21 meter span steel girder bridge located on the Uttarkashi-Tehri-Ghansali-Mayali-Tilwara motorway in Rudraprayag has been damaged. Action is being taken to build Valley Bridge to smooth the traffic. A bridge has also been damaged on the Quiti-Birthi-Munsiyari motor road in Pithoragarh district. The traffic has been diverted under the alternate arrangement of BRO. Electricity and drinking water lines have also been damaged at many places in the district.

Badrinath Highway remained closed for four hours in Sirohbagad
The landslide-affected zone Sirohbagad on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway has become very sensitive. Even in light rain, stones are falling from the hill along with debris. The highway remained closed for four hours on Tuesday. On the other hand, Mayali-Chirbatia-Ghansali state motor road remained blocked in Buranshkantha for the seventh day. The Tilwara-Saurakhal link motor road is also closed in the district.

On Tuesday, the Badrinath Highway remained blocked from 4 am to 8 am. At the same time, the traffic was blocked for an hour due to heavy debris coming towards Khankra, half a km ahead of Sirohbagad. During this, vehicles were operated on the Dungripanth-Chantikhal-Daijmanda-Khankra motorway. The highway is also in dilapidated condition in Naugaon and Narkota. On the other hand, Mayali-Chirbatia-Ghansali state road has been closed for seven days. Ajay Thapliyal, assistant engineer of LND, said that the cleaning of the debris is almost done. Now, the boulders are being broken down. Here, the Tilwara-Saurakhal motorway is closed due to debris at various places.
