Uttarakhand / Khatima : Trees fell on the highway, disrupted traffic and power supply

The canter collided with a huge shisham tree on the Chakarpur-Khatima highway. The fallen tree fell on the road taking power lines under control. This disrupted movement, leading to long queues of vehicles for over an hour on both sides of the highway. Forest workers and villagers somehow made the traffic smooth by removing the tree from the road. Although no one was hurt physically due to the falling of the tree, but due to the damage to the power lines, the villagers of Nadanna Premnagar were immersed in darkness all night. Because of this, he had to face a lot of trouble.
The rosewood tree was tilted for a long time near the sugarcane center between Khatima-Chakarpur. The villagers had informed the forest department several times in the past, but no hearing was held. The said accident happened after hitting the canter tree going to Tanakpur on Monday night. Seeing this, the surrounding villagers reached the spot. Long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the highway for about an hour. Forest personnel also reached on information, who with the help of villagers removed the tree from the highway and made the traffic smooth. At the same time, due to the falling of trees on the power lines, the electricity of the villages connected with the Chakarpur feeder was cut off. The energy corporation restored the supply of most of the villages late in the night, but due to severe damage to the power lines going to Nadanna Prem Nagar, there was darkness throughout the night. Pawan Upreti, Junior Engineer of Energy Corporation said that electricity supply of Premnagar village could be restored after about 17 hours a day on Tuesday. Due to the absence of electricity, the villagers had to face a lot of trouble in the scorching heat.
