India beat Pakistan in ICC ODI Rankings, regained No. 3 chair

Team India overtook Pakistan in the ICC ODI team rankings after winning the first match of the three-match ODI series against England at The Oval on Tuesday. India have moved up to the third spot in the ICC ODI team rankings after a comprehensive 10-wicket win against England. Prior to this match, India were fourth with 105 points, but the win took them to 108 ratings points, leaving Pakistan (106) behind.

New Zealand are at the top of the table with 126 rating points, while England are second with 122 points. The heroes of India’s victory were Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami in the bowling, who took six and three wickets respectively, while Rohit Sharma did wonders in the batting. England’s team was bundled out for 110 runs. This was the same England team, which did a wonderful job of scoring 498 runs in the first match.

Rohit Sharma scored 78 runs in 58 balls and helped the team win by 10 wickets. Ever since Rohit took over the regular captaincy in One Day International cricket, he has been invincible so far. Apart from this, they have lost only one match out of the last 14 in T20 International cricket. At the same time, after the big win against England, India has reached the third place, while Pakistan has slipped to the fourth position.

India has a chance to leave Pakistan far behind, as India have to play 5 more matches in a row. Of these, two matches are to be held against England and three ODIs against West Indies. At the same time, the Pakistan team will be seen playing One Day International cricket after some time. In such a situation, it will not be easy for Pakistan to overtake India in the ODI rankings at the moment.
