Uttarakhand: Center approves 03 projects worth 25 crores under Namami Gange, CM Dhami expresses gratitude to PM Modi and Gajendra Shekhawat

A happy result of the tireless efforts of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has come to the fore today. Under the Namami Gange Project in Uttarakhand, the Central Government has approved 03 projects costing about 25 crores. These projects are to control water pollution in Ganga and to develop public facilities on the banks of Ganga. In-principle approval has been given to these projects in the 43rd Executive Committee meeting of the National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Jal Shakti Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat for this.

The projects sanctioned under the Namami Gange program are very important projects in Uttarakhand for the cleanliness, purity and aviralta of Maa Ganga and its tributaries.

In the 43rd Executive Committee meeting chaired by Shri G. Ashok Kumar, Director General, National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, Uday Raj Singh, Additional Secretary, Drinking Water (Namami Gange) from Uttarakhand virtually participated in this meeting.

A plan of Rs 23.37 crore has been approved for Gaurikund and Tilwara sewerage project, the starting site of Kedarnath Yatra in Rudprayag district. With this scheme, this project will prove to be effective in stopping the polluted water flow in the rivers. On completion of the project, Chardham Yatra will get immense benefit and this project is also important in view of cleanliness and purity of rivers.
