Curfew imposed again in Sri Lanka, army on the streets, being monitored by armored vehicles

Former Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is expected to leave the Maldives and move to Singapore. The news came late on Thursday night that he was waiting for a private jet to fly from Maldives to Singapore. Maldivian sources said Rajapaksa was helped by Maldivian Parliament Speaker and former President Mohamed Nasheed to leave the country. Nasheed remained in Sri Lanka during his exile. A nationwide curfew was imposed in Sri Lanka amid widespread protests against the president and the government. However, this curfew was till this morning only.
