Jammu and Kashmir : ITBP jawan commits suicide by shooting 3 comrades, two jawans were killed even 1 day ago

An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) constable committed suicide by shooting himself after shooting at three of his accomplices in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital and they are safe. Court of Inquiry has been ordered in the matter. The incident comes just a day after two Army personnel were killed in a suspected case of fraternity inside a military base at Surankote in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

ITBP said in a statement that a constable of the 8th Battalion in Udhampur shot and injured three of his comrades. ITBP said that he later shot himself and died. He was part of an adhoc battalion stationed in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the statement, the incident took place today (Saturday) at around 3.30 pm at Devika Ghat Community Centre, Udhampur.

Court of Inquiry order
Constable GD Bhupendra Singh was part of F Company of 2nd Adhoc Battalion of ITBP. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital and they are safe. Court of Inquiry has been ordered.

Army jawan killed his fellow soldier, then committed suicide
A day earlier in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, an Army jawan allegedly shot dead his fellow jawan and then took his own life. Naik Imtiaz Ahmed got into a fight with constable Ibrar during the ‘Road Opening Party’ exercise in Surankot area at around 5.30 am, official sources said. In a fit of rage, Ahmed shot Ibrar with his government gun, killing him on the spot while other jawans were injured, the sources said.

Injured soldiers treated in hospital
Later, Ahmed shot himself too and died in the hospital, they said. According to sources, the injured jawans are undergoing treatment at a hospital. He said that a ‘court of inquiry’ has been ordered into the incident. Police has registered a case and is investigating the matter.
