Uttarakhand / Kashipur : Bail of two accused of Pipliya shooting rejected
The District and Sessions Judge has rejected the bail application of both the brothers arrested on the charge of firing in village Pipliya of Bajpur area after hearing. Several other accused are also in jail in this case.
Firing took place on the midnight of 26/27 April this year at the residence of Netprakash Sharma, a resident of Pipliya village of Bajpur. During this, Kulwant Singh, the personal gunner of former Congress state secretary Avinash Sharma, was killed while two others, including junior deputy chief Tajinder Singh, were injured. After identifying the accused on the basis of CCTV footage, the police arrested several accused including Avinash Sharma, Salim and Kamran, residents of village Keshowala ward number three. The accused Salim and Kamran are in jail since May 1. On behalf of these accused, their advocate submitted an application for bail in the District and Sessions Court.
The defense said that in this case a case was registered against the other party under the section of murder. Therefore, he has filed a case against him in custody, while the prosecution has demanded not to grant bail, saying the trial is of serious nature. After hearing both the sides, the court of District and Sessions Judge Prem Singh Khimal rejected his bail application.
