Uttarakhand : State Road Safety Fund Management Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, CS gave instructions to make Children Traffic Park

Chief Secretary Dr. S. s. A meeting of the State Road Safety Fund Management Committee was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Sandhu. During the meeting, various proposals of the Transport Department, Education Department, Health Department, Police Department and Public Works Department for the financial year 2022-23 were approved. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed to set up Children’s Traffic Parks across the state. He said that it will be started from high traffic pressure areas like Dehradun, Nainital, Haridwar and Udham Singh. He said that young children learn very quickly and remember it for the rest of their lives. This will increase awareness about traffic rules among children and in the coming times, the country and the state will get responsible citizens about traffic rules.
To prevent accidents, district level committees should be formed in each district under the chairmanship of District Magistrate for road engineering works. Improvement will be done by including the stake holder departments in these committees by preparing treatment plan for sensitive crossings or points. The Chief Secretary also directed the officers to make 10, 15 minute videos and show them to the children in schools. He said that this will increase the awareness among the children about the traffic rules. He directed the Public Works Department to fix the black spots and install crash barriers on the roads of the state at the earliest. He directed to ensure proper arrangement of signage etc. in accident prone areas.
On this occasion Secretary Shri Arvind Singh Hyanki, ADGP Law & Order Shri V. Murugesan, Secretary Shri Vinod Kumar Suman, Additional Secretary Home Smt. Riddhim Agarwal and other high officials of concerned departments were present.
