Jammu and Kashmir : Firing-stone pelting on bank recovery team in Kunjwani, three people including PDP leader arrested

The defaulters attacked the team of Gramin Bank, which went to recover the loan in Kunjwani, Jammu city. During the incident in Kunjwani’s Kaluchak on Tuesday afternoon, the attackers opened fire with stones. The bank workers somehow escaped with their lives. Police have arrested three accused, including PDP’s media coordinator Parvez Wafa, in connection with the attack. Police have registered a case at Gangyal police station. Investigation is on in the matter.

According to police sources, Mohammad Amir had taken a loan from Kaluchak Gramin Bank, but was not repaying it. Gramin Bank had to recover Rs 35,000. When the recovery was not done even after repeatedly informing and giving notice, the bank team reached Aamir’s house with the recovery van. There were 9 personnel in the team. The bank team got into a heated argument with Mohammed Hussein’s son Saddam Hussein and Mohammad Amir.

PDP’s media coordinator Parvez Wafa and his brother Shail Wafa were also present on the occasion during the debate. All four got into an argument with the bank team. Meanwhile, Aamir’s father Mohammad Hussain also reached the spot. Then PDP leader Parvez Wafa took out his licensed pistol and fired two shots at the recovery van. One fire was also done in the air.

These four along with their families also pelted stones on the recovery team. Two personnel of the recovery team were injured in this. However, he has suffered minor injuries. The ruckus increased so much that 9 personnel involved in the recovery team somehow escaped from the spot after saving their lives.

At the same time, the police have registered a case against 6 people in this case. Of these, 3 have been arrested. These include Parvez Wafa, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Hussain. The other three people are absconding. Police is raiding in search of absconding accused. The police also confiscated Parvez’s licensed pistol.
