Mahesh Bhatt came in support of Sushmita Sen
Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has given his opinion on beauty queen-turned-actor Sushmita Sen’s relationship with businessman Lalit Modi. Mahesh directed Sushmita’s debut film Dastak. Lalit Modi has created panic on the internet with the announcement of dating Sushmita Sen a few days back.
Although Sushmita hasn’t explicitly confirmed the relationship, she has said that she is happy and would love if people don’t poke their noses at her work.
In an interview with TOI, Mahesh Bhatt said that Sushmita is ‘an unusual girl’. She is ‘living life on her own terms’ and for that he salutes her. He said that everyone should let them live as they wish and no one should impose their ‘ideas and beliefs’ on others. He said, ‘Sushmita has always been someone who has listened to her heart.’

Mahesh also recalled how Sushmita met her formal partner Vikram Bhatt while working on Dastak. Mahesh Bhatt said that ‘their romance began in Seychelles’. Vikram used to be Mahesh’s ‘right hand’ and had regular interactions with Sushmita, and thus came closer to each other.
Vikram also recently spoke about Sushmita’s relationship, especially the attacks in which trolls called her a ‘gold digger’.
The filmmaker while talking to India Today said, “Sushmita will be the last person who will check the bank balance before deciding to fall in love with someone. I was directing Ghulam, but I had no money. I will not forget that Sushmita was the person who first took me to the US, and she gave me money for my trip. I didn’t have money. When we arrived in Los Angeles and there was a limousine, I was shocked. She said that she wants to make my entry in America very special.
Sushmita recently recalled her experience of working with Mahesh Bhatt, and said that there was a time during the shooting of her debut film when she ‘humiliated’ the entire crew and the actress, to which Sush got angry and She started leaving the set. When Mahesh stopped him, he replied, “No, you can’t talk to me like this.” But later Mahesh Bhatt said that he did this to bring Sushmita into the character.
