Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Piyush Mordia said on Wednesday that Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel have been deployed around Lulu Mall and they have been instructed not to disturb law and order. While a watch is being kept on the chaotic elements outside the mall, the security personnel posted inside the mall are also being trained to deal with any kind of disturbances in the premises.
A senior Lulu Mall official said on condition of anonymity, “Our security personnel are being trained to thwart the designs of anyone who tries to create a ruckus inside the mall. We have asked our personnel to nab any such person and hand him over to the police. 1000 CCTV cameras have been installed to keep a watch on the activities inside the mall.
It is to be known that the police had arrested four people on Tuesday for offering Namaz without permission in the Lulu Mall premises. None of them were employees of the mall.
Mordia said, “We are also trying to find out whether the namaz inside the mall was offered as a conspiracy? The police is closely probing every aspect of the case.”
The arrest comes after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday directed him to take strict action against elements trying to vitiate the atmosphere around Lulu Mall.
Controversy arose over the offering of prayers inside the mall when some activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha protested against it.
A person named Shishir Chaturvedi, who describes himself as the national spokesperson of the organization, had alleged that people belonging to a particular community were being allowed to offer prayers inside the mall. Chaturvedi had also filed a case in this case.
On the other hand, Sameer Verma, general manager of the mall, had said that Lulu Mall respects all religions and no religious activity is allowed inside the mall.
