The government has decided to exclude people who are taking benefits of ration cards from the list by becoming fake poor. Under this, the Department of Food and Public Distribution has made preparations for changes in the rules of ration card. The round of meetings with the state governments in this regard is also going on. It is likely that a big announcement can be made in this regard soon.

Preparation of screws on fake poor

The government is going to change the standards set for the eligible people who take food grains through ration cards from government ration shops. The names of the fake poor, who are taking advantage of the government free ration schemes, will be deducted from the list and only the eligible people will be able to take advantage of these schemes when new standards for eligibility come to the fore.

80 crore people are taking benefits of schemes

According to the Department of Food and Public Distribution, at present, about 80 crore needy people across the country are taking advantage of the National Food Security Act. In which many fake poor or such people who are financially prosperous are also connected. In such a situation, now the intention of the government is to show these people the way out.

Ineligible people will be out of the list

It is expected that soon the eligibility new standards can be stamped. After the new standards are set for the ration card holders, only eligible beneficiaries can take advantage of the government’s pre ration schemes. Whereas, the ineligible people who are now taking benefits in a fraudulent way will be able to tighten the noose.
