Uttarakhand / Pithoragarh: dead body burnt after killing wife

A case of burning the dead body after killing the wife has come to the fore in Chansar. The police have taken the husband into custody after registering a case of dowry death.
On Thursday, around 5.30 am, people going to the market to give milk from Chansar village saw smoke rising near Kunigad. There was also a foul smell. When the villagers reached the spot, the body of the woman was burning. Kotwal Mohan Chandra Pandey reached the spot along with the police team and doused the fire by pouring water on the burning body. Thereafter the body was taken into custody.
The half-burnt body was identified as that of 22-year-old Anandi. Her in-laws are in Chheda of Chandak. It is being told that due to the rift in the in-laws’ house, she was living with her mother Sunita Devi in her maternal house located in Reasi village for three months. He also has a three-year-old daughter, Aaradhya. Anandi’s mother Sunita Devi filed a complaint accusing her son-in-law of murder, Kishan Kumar. After this, the police have registered a case against Kishan Kumar under 302, 304B. Police has also taken Kishan Kumar into custody. Dialogue
Took wife and daughter on July 20
Sunita Devi told the police that her daughter Anandi was married five years ago to Kishan Kumar, a resident of Chheda village. He alleges that after marriage, Kishan Kumar started harassing his daughter for dowry. Troubled by the harassment of her husband, her daughter was living in the maternal house for three months. It is alleged that on July 20, Kishan Kumar came to Reasi village during the day and forcibly took away his granddaughter and daughter, he had talked about sending them back in the evening. When she did not come home till morning, she called Kishan Kumar, then on Wednesday evening itself, she talked about sending Anandi to her maternal house and started talking about searching.
Five teams of police

Prima facie it seems to be a case of murder. The mother of the deceased, Sunita Devi has given a complaint. The husband is being taken into custody and interrogated. Soon this matter will be disclosed.
