Congress attack on TMC
In the presidential election, this was the TMC, which led the opposition, but in the vice-presidential election, it took a different path, which was attacked by the Congress and made many serious allegations. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that the Governor of Bengal, Jagdeep Dhankhar, with whom Mamta Banerjee used to have an argument, that governor called him, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. All three met and the next day Jagdeep Dhankhar was made the Vice President. This one ‘Darjeeling Pact’ happened in all three.
Distance was made even during enrollment
At the same time, Omar Abdullah also expressed surprise at this attitude of Trinamool Congress (TMC) and has raised questions on the solidarity of the opposition by tweeting. Earlier on Monday, Margaret Alva had filed nomination as the joint candidate of the opposition for the Vice Presidential election, but no TMC representative participated in it. Leaders of many opposition parties including NCP President Sharad Pawar, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury were present, but TMC kept distance during the nomination.
