Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Plotting demolished by cutting mountains on Canal Road, Mines Officer, Geologist and MDDA Supervisor suspended

DM suspended four personnel including District Mines Officer and Geologist in the case of illegal plating being done by cutting mountains on Canal Road. In this case, an FIR has been lodged in Dalanwala Kotwali against the accused resident of Saharanpur on behalf of Mineral Moharrir (Geology and Mining Unit) Kundan Salal. At the same time, the district administration and MDDA team demolished the illegal plating.
On the complaint of illegal plating and land felling in the Canal Road area adjacent to Rajpur Road, District Magistrate Sonika visited the spot on Saturday and conducted a site inspection. After this, the district administration and the team of Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) stopped the construction work by demolishing the illegal plating. District Mining Officer Virendra Singh, Geologist Anil Kumar and two supervisors of MDDA, Pyare Lal and Mahaveer Singh, were instructed to be suspended for being found prima facie negligence. He was suspended with immediate effect.
The District Magistrate said that instructions have been given for a detailed inquiry into the matter. He directed all the SDMs and concerned officers that any kind of illegal plating and illegal mining in the district would not be spared. Keep a serious watch on illegal plating and illegal mining in their respective areas. On this occasion, ADM Administration SK Banarwal, MDDA Assistant Engineer Abhishek Bhardwaj etc. were present.
This is the case
On behalf of Anil Kumar Gupta, resident of 69 Mission Compound of Saharanpur, leveling and buttress construction was being done on 14,175 square meters of land by cutting the mountain on the canal road. On site inspection and on seeing the documents, it was found that the period of leveling taken earlier had expired. In view of doing illegal land development and plating work on behalf of MDDA, show cause and stop work notices were also sent against the concerned under relevant sections of Uttarakhand Town Planning and Development Act 1973 on 19th July.
