Uttarakhand : Earthquake tremors felt in Uttarkashi

The earth of Uttarkashi district was once again shaken by strong tremors of earthquake. The people of Uttarkashi were horrified by the strong aftershocks of the earthquake that occurred at 12.37 pm on Sunday. People came out of their homes in fear. The tremors of the earthquake were quite strong. The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 3.6 on the Richter scale. Whose center is being told as Kenneth in the forest of Jamak village located in Bhatwadi block. Earthquake tremors have been felt twice in Uttarkashi within five days.

District Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal said that at present there is no information about loss of life and property due to earthquake in the district. Apart from the district headquarters Uttarkashi, tremors were felt in Maneri, Matli, Joshiada, Bhatwadi areas, while tremors were not felt in other tehsil areas of the district. According to the report, the depth (center) of the earthquake was 10 kilometers in the ground. Earlier, mild tremors of earthquake were felt in the district on July 19 at around 11.56 pm, whose intensity was given as 2.6. Explain that Uttarkashi district falls in the sensitive zone in terms of disasters like earthquake, flood and landslide. The memories of the devastating earthquake of 1991 are still fresh in the minds of the people of Uttarkashi. Whenever there is an earthquake, the people of Uttarkashi tremble.
