Uttarakhand : LGBT community took out pride walk from Parade Ground in Dehradun, thousands of gays gathered

Today in the capital Dehradun, the LGBT community took out a pride walk with colorful posters and flags. During this, the LGBT community also displayed their solidarity by taking out the third Garvotsav rally. A large number of gays and transgenders participated in the Pride Walk. During this, people expressed their happiness by singing and dancing. This walk was organized by Purpose Kalyan Samiti.
All the people of the LGBT community gathered at the Parade Ground in Dehradun. After that via Ashley Hall, Behal Chowk, EC Road, Survey Chowk, all reached back to Parade Ground. where the rally ended. During this, transgender Venkatesh said that according to Indian civilization, everyone has the right to live their life. We all should embrace this truth. He said that in 2014, the Supreme Court had given third gender recognition to transgenders, but even after 8 years, transgenders are still not recognized in many places. He said that beds for transgenders were not available in hospitals and isolation centers during the Corona period, while there was no shortage of beds for women and men. Venkatesh says that due to poverty, transgenders are not able to get their treatment in any private hospital. In such a situation, the government should provide facilities for the LGBT community like other people.
